Starting is the easy part

Starting is the easy part

The professional knows starting is the easy part.

They know this because finishing is harder.

The amateur starts a list of projects and finishes none.

The professional starts a list of projects and finishes a handful.

Starting is exciting. Everything is new. Starting is saying yes to something. Yes feels good.

Finish is exciting but it requires saying no.

The professional works through a project and realises what it's going to take to finish. So they say no to everything else.

The amateur never finishes a project because when they realise what it's going to take to finish, they find something new to say yes to.

Not every project has a finish line. And not every project needs to be finished, some are worth being abandoned.

But it pays to remember the energy you had when you started.

Finish with the same.
